Pump House Road

The Gathering is a cultural event for the Sheshatshui Innu that takes place in Gull Island during mid September for a week where they return to the land to reclaim their culture’s traditions. During the week-long gathering, the indigenous group sleep in tents and lived a more traditional way of life, away from modern technology like cellphones.

Cain’s Quest Snowmobile Endurance Race has been described as the ultimate in extreme racing. At more than 3000km of high energy racing , this race is the longest race of its kind in the world. Every three years, the Labrador Winter Games are hosted here in Goose Bay. Nicknamed the "Olympics of the North", and the "Friendship Games", the Labrador Winter Games are full of intense athletic competition and lots of celebration. The coming together of peoples from all the regions of Labrador, competing for community pride and in the fellowship of sportsmanship and respect make the Labrador Winter Games an event not to be missed.
